National Chung Cheng University has long been dedicated to the development of “Advanced Manufacturing Systems.” Leveraging its strategic location within Taiwan’s Precision Machinery Corridor on the western coast, CCU has established close collaborations with industry, laying a solid foundation for the establishment of this center. In 2011, it integrated related on-campus research centers to form the Advanced Institute of Manufacturing with High-tech Innovations (AIM-HI). Since its inception in 2011, AIM-HI has successfully secured funding through both the first and second phases of the Ministry of Education’s “Stepping Towards Premier University Project.” Beginning in 2018, it received two major five-year grants: one from the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education SPROUT Project and another from the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Featured Area Research Center Program. In 2023, it was once again awarded a five-year grant under Phase II of the Higher Education SPROUT Project as a Featured Research Center. These accomplishments demonstrate AIM-HI’s active pursuit of long-term support from both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology since its establishment. Through its continued advancement of cutting-edge research and development, AIM-HI has showcased exceptional research capabilities and growth potential, establishing a solid foundation for innovation in both academia and industry.
